Since the Government of India made electronic or e-Visas available for international visitors to visit India, doing so has become a simple and convenient task. All you need to do is meet the Indian e-Visa eligibility conditions for the Indian e-Visa and have Indian Visa document Requirements fulfilled in order to apply for and obtain the Indian e-Visa.
Some of the mandatory document requirements include:
-
An electronic or scanned copy of the first (biographical) page of the visitor’s passport, which must be the standard Passport, and which must remain valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into India, otherwise you would need to renew your passport.
-
A copy of the visitor’s recent passport-style color photo (only of the face, and it can be taken with a phone), a working email address, and a debit card or a credit card for the payment of the application fees.
-
A return or onward ticket out of the country.
The Indian Business Visa is available to all international visitors who are visiting India for commercial purposes or for any type of business that seeks to make a profit. Selling or buying goods and services in India, attending business meetings such as technical meetings or sales meetings, establishing industrial or business ventures, conducting tours, delivering lectures, recruiting workers, participating in trade and business fairs and exhibitions, and coming to the country as an expert or specialist for some commercial projects are examples of these purposes. As a result, there are numerous grounds on which you can apply for a Business Visa in India, as long as they are all related to commercial or business projects.
The Indian Medical Visa is only available on medical grounds, and it is only available to international visitors who are visiting the country as patients seeking medical treatment. Family members of the patient who wish to accompany the patient would be ineligible for entry into the country via the medical e-Visa. Instead, they would need to apply for a Medical Attendant Visa for India. You would need to apply for an e-Visa for any purpose other than medical treatment, such as tourism or business.
US citizens planning to visit India for tourism and sightseeing can apply for an Indian Tourist Visa for US Citizens online. This Visa allows you to stay in the country for a maximum of 180 days and can only be used on non-commercial trips, not commercial ones. Aside from tourism, US citizens can use the Tourist e-Visa to come to India to attend a short-term Yoga Program, take a course that will last no more than 6 months and will not grant a degree or diploma certificate, or participate in volunteer work that will last no more than 1 month.
