LawnZap app launches in Tucson, connects locals with vetted lawn care professionals

“LawnZap company working to streamline how homeowners hire lawn care providers”
LawnZap has an app that connects homeowners with local lawn care professionals that the company says it has vetted. Homeowners list their lawns with a date and lawn care needs. Professionals make a bid based on Google street maps and aerial images and any other lawn details the homeowner provides.

Homeowners select whom they want to do the work. They can set a schedule on a weekly, biweekly or an every-10-days basis. LawnZap said 90% of customers have their lawn care tended to every other week. Homeowners can change landscapers if they want.

There is no fee to sign up and get bids. Payment is not due until the homeowner sees the finished job. Once a vendor has completed the service, the lawn care pro will send a time-stamped photo of the completed work. LawnZap was designed to eliminate the time-consuming task of calling around to companies and meeting with landscapers to get quotes. With the app, the companies can look up the yard on Google Earth and give a price quickly.

LawnZap uses your address alone to generate three prices automatically. You can choose between weekly, bi-weekly and a custom one-time mowing quote. For a standard home yard, the weekly service costs $38 on average and about $41 for the bi-weekly service.

LawnZap also said the company will work hard to make sure you get the same lawn professional every time. That helps to build trust and make for better service over time. But if your normal servicer has mechanical troubles or takes off on vacation, another of the thousands of providers on the LawnZap network can easily fill in before your grass gets overgrown.

The old way of hiring someone to maintain your lawn — getting recommendations from neighbors and friends, scheduling an in-person visit to see your property, waiting days for a quote all while your grass keeps growing — is coming to an end.

That’s thanks to LawnZap company working to streamline how homeowners hire lawn care providers and how professionals get jobs. The app launched in Tampa FL.
