“Reviewed By Anne-Marie Reynolds for Readers’ Favorite
Reunion by Darin Miller is the first book in the Dwayne Morrow series. Richard Dwayne Morrow, better known as Dwayne, has returned to his hometown for a high school reunion, expecting to get together with friends he hasn’t seen in years. However, disaster strikes right before he arrives when his best friend’s body is found in his car. Strangely, although Ryan was murdered, the police aren’t interested in investigating. Then Sarah, Ryan’s mother, asks Dwayne to investigate. Unable to say no, Dwayne starts digging into Ryan’s life and begins to uncover a tangled web of lies, deceit, and secrets. The deeper in he gets, the more dangerous it is and nothing is what Dwayne thought it would be. What should have been a simple investigation has turned into a dangerous game and Dwayne’s life is about to change forever. Did he unknowingly play a part in Ryan’s death? Were their old friends involved? And why didn’t the police want to investigate?
Reunion is Darin Miller’s debut novel and what a story it is! You are drawn into this novel right from the first page as the scene is set for what promises to be an explosive story. The plot was brilliantly written and unique and Darin Miller’s descriptive writing sets you firmly in the scene. The pacing is steady, with the suspense building gradually as the story twists and turns its way to an ending you won’t see coming. The dialog is engaging and the characters are developed to the point where they feel like old friends and are fun and likable. With plenty of action, you will be fully engaged in this hard-to-put-down story. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and am looking forward to book 2 in the series.”
