Dr. Daryl Green’s Book ‘Real Dads, Real Leaders’ Surges In Popularity As Father’s Day Nears

Dr. Daryl Green’s ‘Real Dads, Real Leaders’ is a tribute to African-American dads who positively impact the lives of their sons and daughters, just like the author’s father, Edward Elia.

Dr. Daryl Green’s father, Edward Elias, influenced his life immensely through his stern and purposeful upbringing. In his book ‘Real Dads, Real Leaders: Over 40 Stories to Help Men Be Better Fathers’ Dr. Daryl Green has listed positive stories about African-American dads.

Dr. Daryl D. Green grew up in Shreveport and then retired as a manager from the Department of Energy with many national achievements. He credits his parents, especially his father, for raising him the right way. His father was of the old school. He was strict and purposeful and saw to it so that his kids did not go to the wrong side in their lives.

After retiring from the Department of Energy in 2016, Dr. Green started AGSM Consulting LLC in Tennessee along with his wife, Estraletta. He provides small business consulting, guidance, and management training. Additionally, He is a business professor operating a small business in Oklahoma.

The lessons that he learned from his father have been his go-to mantras throughout his life. They are:

– Work hard even if people are not watching you.

– Master a skill.

– Create a service or product, and there will be someone to pay you for that.

– Be polite and respectful to your clients.

– Know your worth.

Dr. Green explains, “We need more strong fathers to lead our nation during these difficult times. The mass shootings don’t make sense.  Perhaps, if more men were present in the homes, we would see different results in society.”

The Black community is not the exception.  Furthermore, he co-authored the book A Call to Destiny: How to Create Effective Ways to Assist Black Boys in America and Real Dads, Real Leaders: Over 40 Stories to Help Men Be Better Fathers. Dr. Green is also the executive producer of “Saving Our Sons: Dealing With Black Male Underachievement,” a DVD. Are there still real fathers in our country?
