Some Nursing schools in the Bay Area now prefer students with a Nursing Assistant or CNA license for their nursing program. A growing demand for nurses spurred students to pursue nursing careers. Those applicants with CNA License are given favorable consideration.
There has been an increase in CNA Students since the past years. Typically, students would enroll in schools that are conveniently located nearby their homes and those which offer some extras. One of the preferred CNA schools is CAL ACE Nursing Academy due to its online modality. The online interaction allows students to virtually access the required sixty (60) theory hours covering the 17 modules as prescribed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

What’s unique with the California Academy of Leadership and Continuing Education (CAL ACE) program is the elective module that is Module 18 – Leadership in Healthcare Setting. This particular module is not a state requirement but the school institution deemed it necessary especially in the current healthcare situation with the COVID 19 devastation. Front liners in almost all nursing facilities are even more exposed to different stress, staffing, and interpersonal relationship concerns.
Dr. Cliff Roperez, Doctor of Business in Leadership promotes the idea that leadership should start from the personal and onto the team level. Leadership plays a vital role in keeping high job morale and a manageable stress level among staff. He recalled that a CNA job is not easy as he started from the caregiver level, before becoming a CNA, then proceeded to become a Licensed Nurse. He later became a Director of Staff Development and is now a Nursing School Administrator of CAL ACE Nursing Academy at Milpitas. According to Dr. Cliff, “It gives me the joy to see that the students are becoming successful in their chosen career. Many are called to this industry or profession, but only a few are likely to respond”.
CAL ACE Nursing Academy has a 99% passing rate on the State’s CNA skills exam. The school also works in partnership with select facilities which will reimburse the student’s Registration and Tuition fees. Essentially the program will be free. The school is located at 1535 Landess Ave Unit 103, Milpitas, California.
