The crypto industry has seen turbulent times in recent months. With macroeconomic factors acting as a driving catalyst for this quarter’s downturn, virtually all markets from stocks, to commodities and crypto, have seen a lot of ‘red’.
With that red, comes worry and anticipation of what may transform into a bear market. But it also brings with it an opportunity for savvy crypto enthusiasts, traders, and NFT collectors o reap significant rewards.
In any market, pockets of opportunity lay in wait, with many projects seeing ‘green’ as they pave the way for new innovations regarding yield, utility, and technology.
One such project is Whale Hunter, the first-ever generative formline NFT project.
Presented By 8Fathoms – the first generative formline NFT project native to Ethereum
Formline art is a centuries-old art form adopted by cultures throughout North America and other parts of the world. This project represents the first-ever formline NFT art project native to the Ethereum blockchain. Each NFT is artfully crafted by a member of the First Nations, creating authentic art forms that embody the spirit and energy of cultures from around the world.
Becoming the Whale: One Lucky Spearholder will be Granted 150 ETH
Draw the spear, become the whale, get 150 ETH
Whale Hunter will mint a limited supply of 5000 NFTs, after which, one lucky NFT holder will be algorithmically chosen as the ‘whale’. This whale will be airdropped a spear, granting them the title of Whale Hunter, and along with it, 150 ETH (current market value est. $300,000).
How Does Someone Become a ‘Whale’
When all 5000 paddles have been minted, a whale is captured to ‘feed’ the people (those holding a paddle). The airdropped spear that kills the whale is transformed, and a new type of ‘whale’ is born, one that is now 150 ETH richer. Each minted NFT represents an opportunity to become the ‘chosen’ one, the spear holder, the hunter, the ‘whale’.
Altruistic Roots: Saving the wild salmon
More than the chance to become a whale, supporters of this project will be contributing to a cause near and dear to the hearts of many: saving the wild Canadian salmon.
Wild salmon are the lifeblood of the B.C. coast, representing a pillar of a complex ecosystem that supports countless species of wildlife. From bears and wolves, to sea lions and eagles, if the wild salmon’s population collapses, so does much of the majesty and beauty of nature enjoyed by countless individuals across North America.
Once 5000 NFTs have been minted, Whale Hunter will donate 150 ETH to salmon enhancement efforts on traditional Kwakawaka’wakw territory on Vancouver Island, BC.
About Whale Hunter NFT
Whale Hunter is the first-ever generative formline art NFT on the Ethereum blockchain. Paying homage to ancient artforms and the first peoples of North America, this NFT features traditional symbolism, weaving northwest coastal culture into each unique piece of art.
A core goal of this project is to bring long-term benefit to the planet at large, giving back to sustainable environmental efforts, namely protecting wild salmon.
