Arabelle Publishing is thrilled to announce the launch of Counting Spoons by Kathryn Mae Inman. The book, which is Kathryn’s debut book, follows the story of Kathryn’s son, Justin’s addiction to heroin, how he overcame the addiction, and what impact it had on the family. In the book, Kathryn shares the harrowing story of her son’s addiction to heroin and how that led her family to Christ. God not only healed Justin’s condition, but He brought restoration to both Kathryn and Justin that they didn’t know they needed.
“Justin and I were always very close,” explained Kathryn Mae. “So that made it particularly hard when he was in his addiction. I felt like I hated him. I loved this child so much, but I hated the addiction. It really strained things between us.”
Kathryn had a difficult time helping her son Justin quit his heroin addiction. She kicked him out of her house because he refused to give up the drug, but this only led to a downward spiral for both of them. Feeling overwhelmed with anger and fear, she turned to God for help.
This was the turning point for Kathryn and her family. As she prayed to God, He began to join the broken pieces of her family, saving Justin, and restoring harmony. All of which did not come on a platter. In Kathryn’s memoir, Counting Spoons, she delivers the painful and honest story of how one family overcame addiction. Their story is a testament to God’s power to save even the most lost soul.
